How I work
I work with clients to help them make the most of their lives. Sometimes we cannot change situations or people but we CAN change how we view others and how we react and behave in those situations. In counselling I will help you to examine why you behave and think the way you do and help you to find strategies to overcome any difficulties. Sometimes it is hard to identify exactly what is wrong so I can also help you to clarify and identify who you are and what you really want from life.
I use a non-directive and non-judgemental approach in counselling where you as the client decide what you want to bring to counselling. If later in counselling we both agree that a more directive, solution focused or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach is more appropriate then I can use some different techniques and strategies tailored to meet your individual needs.
With experience as an Employment Advisor for a mental health charity, I can offer a workplace orientated counselling service tailored to meet the needs of employers or employees. Please contact me to discuss these services.
